Jabal Akhdar Trek

Jabal Al Akhdar is a mountain range located in the Al Hajar montane woodlands ecoregion, with different types of plant communities at different elevations. The lower elevations of the mountain range feature shrublands and dry grasslands, while the higher elevations are home to semi-evergreen woodlands and juniper woodlands. The plants found in these communities are adapted to the arid conditions of the region and include a diverse array of species.

On this tour, we will explore the rocky desert terrain of the Jebel Akhdar mountain in a private 4-wheel-drive vehicle. We will start with a private pickup and spend a day exploring the incredible scenery of this region.

Our first stop will be at the Al Aqar Village, where we will get a chance to see the traditional mud brick houses and learn about the local way of life. From there, we will continue on to the Al Ain village, where we will have the opportunity to take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Next, we will make our way to the Al Sherijah village, where we will have the chance to see the ancient ruins and learn about the history of this fascinating region.

We will then make a stop at the canyon view point, where we can marvel at the incredible vistas of the canyon below.

Our next stop will be at the fossil fuel rocks, where we will have the opportunity to learn about the geological history of the area and see the fossilized remains of ancient plants and animals.

Finally, we will make a lunch stop at the Layali Al Jabal Al Akdar restaurant, where we can enjoy a delicious meal and rest before continuing on our journey.
